Upcoming price hikes on Kindle books

$0.99 seems like a fair price for a song. $9.99 seems like a fair price for an e-book.

We can thank Apple for the $0.99 song, but in the case of e-books they have ruined this good thing we had going. With Apple's late entry into the market, they opened the door to negotiable prices. Macmillan showed their greed business savvy and turned the tables on Amazon. And others may follow.

I will support those who continue to charge $9.99.

Update:
And those are becoming less and less... (Macmillan, HarperCollins, and Hachette)
