The aim of LDS Kindle Books is two-fold:
  1. Provide free LDS books to Kindle owners

  2. Alert Kindle owners about new LDS books available in Kindle format.

The types of FREE publications include Gospel resources published by LDS.org in Kindle compatible formats, LDS General Conference talks, and LDS books which are free from copyright.

Linked books generally include publications from Deseret Book released for the Kindle or books by LDS authors produced by other publishers.

Lectures on Faith

The latest free offering, is Lectures on Faith available for download below.

A comment made by Ika in an Amazon forum led me to remove a link to the Deseret Book version of Lectures on Faith. With her observation, I decided to try my hand at creating a free version. Using the tips documented in Table of Contents and Links, I extended my basic creation with a couple simple usability features.

Ika asked why Deseret Book would publish their version at a higher Kindle book price while it's available for a much lower amount. In an effort to answer her question, I'd like to elaborate on both offerings available on Amazon.com.

The Deseret Book version is similar to their paperback release. Their version includes updates to scripture references, spelling, and grammar.

The other versions are based on text that is public domain (this work has seen more than 70 years since the passing of the last author). It is readily available in various forms and can be easily converted into a Kindle book.

As such, I have been able to prepare this version free of charge. In reality anyone can make a kindle version and charge what they wish on Amazon. The differentiation will come down to value-added features.
