The aim of LDS Kindle Books is two-fold:
  1. Provide free LDS books to Kindle owners

  2. Alert Kindle owners about new LDS books available in Kindle format.

The types of FREE publications include Gospel resources published by LDS.org in Kindle compatible formats, LDS General Conference talks, and LDS books which are free from copyright.

Linked books generally include publications from Deseret Book released for the Kindle or books by LDS authors produced by other publishers.

Current Bible and Book of Mormon for Kindle

I just stumbled upon the Bible and current Book of Mormon in Kindle format. They are constructed really well.

Update:
The church has added a .mobi version of the standard works here:

Bible:

Update:
You can use Caliber to covert epub versions of the Bible and Book of Mormon from here.

Thanks for your great blog! I was wondering if you know if there is a Kindle version out there of the new church handbook of instructions 2?

I can't jump directly to a chapter. Anyone else have this problem? I downloaded the HOly Bible & Book of Mormon to my Kindle, I can navigate to a page that lists all the chapters, but when I move down to the chapter numbers, it treats them as if they are a table, and I can't go to a specific chapter. Thanks for any help with this...

I have yet to find a Kindle version of the church handbook of instructions 2. They have it available for iOS devices and yanceyware, but I have not seen it for other handheld devices.

With reference to the Holy Bible and Book of Mormon, there are a limited number of internal-links that can be created.

Including all chapters may exceed that amount. I will provide further updates if I encounter a better version.

If you've got access to a HoI, on Kindle, then you're aiding in copyright infringment.

The Handbook of Instructions is printed in hardcopy only, NOT electronically.

In response to the anonymous post above, the church has, in fact, authorized electronic distribution of Handbook 2.

The full text is available to all on the church website: http://lds.org/handbook/handbook-2-administering-the-church?lang=eng

In addition, the church sponsored "Gospel Library" application available on iphones, ipads, android devices, Blackberry, Palm and Windows Mobile:
http://lds.org/pages/mobile-apps?lang=eng

However, the church has not released the Handbook 2 in Kindle format.

In addition, the church has not publicly released Handbook 1. Handbook 1 is still published electronically, but access is only granted to those who hold leadership positions in the church by use of the leader and clerk resources tab.

You're a bit out of date: http://lds.org/handbook/handbook-2-administering-the-church?lang=eng

The new handbook was made available online shortly after it was introduced.

The HOI is available in electronic format via lds.org to anyone in the world. They may print what they read or may read it electronically.

Although the church Handbook is not available in Kindle format, it is available as a PDF at this link: http://lds.org/bc/content/shared/content/english/pdf/language-materials/08702_eng.pdf?lang=eng
